From November 26-30, the Torrelodones Flamenco Festival brings the legendary Paco de Lucía back into the spotlight, celebrating his life and artistry as the heartbeat of this year’s program. With unforgettable hits like Entre dos Aguas and iconic collaborations with flamenco rebel singer Camarón de la Isla, Paco de Lucía didn’t just play flamenco—he revolutionized it. Known for his fearless fusion and unmatched virtuosity, he expanded flamenco’s horizons while honoring its roots. Marking the tenth anniversary of his passing, this festival promises a lineup of events honoring the Algeciras-born genius who elevated flamenco to heights once unimaginable.

Torrelodones Flamenco Festival Highlights

The festival’s programming includes an exhibition of unpublished photographs by Paco Manzano and a spectacular final gala (November 30) with many of the artists who accompanied Paco throughout his career—such as Jorge Pardo, Juan Manuel Cañizares, Rubem Dantas, Joaquín Grilo, Duquende, and Niño Josele himself.

On November 27, a roundtable will discuss the evolution of flamenco before and after Paco de Lucía, with speakers including Carmen Linares, Víctor Monge ‘Serranito’, César Suárez, and José Manuel Gamboa. The same day, the festival will spotlight new talent with the appearances of promising young artists like singer Sandra Carrasco and guitarist David de Arahal.

On November 28, audiences will experience Cádiz-style flamenco with Rancapino Chico, the latest link in a splendid flamenco dynasty. And on November 29, Farruquito will bring the height of flamenco dance to the stage, carrying on the wisdom and spirit of a unique dance lineage.

Flamenco guitarist Niño Josele invites

The Torrelodones Flamenco Festival is a must-attend event in Madrid’s cultural and flamenco scene. It returns this year to offer audiences the flamenco art of the moment. They are pulling out all the stops with Niño Josele as director — a globally recognized guitarist and one of flamenco’s greatest living representatives.

Niño Josele (Juan José Heredia) is inviting legendary artists who worked with Paco de Lucía, such as dancer Farruquito, Sandra Carrasco, and Rancapino Chico as he remarks:

“I take on this responsibility with a great sense of commitment, but also with full freedom and a strong desire to share some of the knowledge and experience I’ve accumulated throughout my life as a guitarist in the world of flamenco”
