Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to announce that I’m currently writing a flamenco novel! Weeehh! I want to give you a peek into my creative world. Right now, I’m fully immersed in the process of crafting my novel, and let me tell you, it’s quite the journey!

The Flamenco Writer’s Innermost Cave of Creation

Imagine me here, in my cozy writing nook within my Tiny House, surrounded by notes, with my pink/purple flamenco shoes in sight, either typing away on the keyboard or consulting with my new colleague ChatGPT, all while being serenaded by the honey-filled melodies of Vicente Amigo’s flamenco guitar in the background.

Capturing Flamenco’s Essence

For me, it’s all about capturing the essence of flamenco and my personal adventures within the flamenco scene in Seville, as well as delving into the fascinating history of nineteenth century flamenco dancer Carmencita.

Streams of Creativity
I’m excited to share my writing process with you. It all began a decade ago during a personal retreat in France with my mother’s friends. That’s when the initial seeds of my novel began to sprout. I envisioned a flamenco dancer in Seville, captivated by the famous painting ‘El Jaleo,’ as the dancers and guitarists seemingly leapt off the canvas before her eyes.

Personal Flamenco Adventures

With my 20 years of adventures in the flamenco scene of Sevilla in Spain and the Netherlands and my own experience as a dancer and art historian, my inner stories are now clamoring to be heard. So last year, during a return to that tranquil retreat in France, my characters and adventures flooded my mind like a torrent. It was exhilarating. However, without structure or sleep, it became overwhelming.

Guidance Along the Way

So, I’ve turned to various writing techniques and have enrolled in digital nomad and ‘No Excuses Lady’ Esther Jacob’s coaching program and How to Write a Book course. Thank you so much, Esther! Your guidance has given me the courage to open up and share my journey with all of you.

Shared Joy in the Flamenco Journey: I need you!

I believe that a journey is always better when you’re not alone. So, I want to co-create this novel with the input of you, my dear readers. As our famous Dutch football coach Johan Cruyff with a passion for Spain once said: Alleen kan je niks, je moet het samen doen. Or: Alone you can’t do anything, you have to do it together.
